Fun Farm Activities for Kids: Learning Through Play
There's something special about watching kids explore the outdoors, getting their hands dirty, and learning about the world in the best way possible—through play. Here at our U-pick tulip farm in Woodruff, SC, near Greenville, we believe farm life isn't just about growing flowers. It's about creating experiences, building memories, and letting kids be kids.
Tulip Picking: A Hands-On Lesson in Nature
Kids love to pick flowers. Our you-pick tulip fields are perfect for little hands eager to explore colors, scents, and textures. It's not just about taking home blooms; it's a mini science lesson in plant growth and seasons.
Meet all our Friendly Farm Animals
From the cheerful clucking of our 20 barnyard chickens and the curious noses of our 14 Nigerian Dwarf Goats, to our 2 gentle Babydoll sheep, 2 sweet mini donkeys, and 6 soft rabbits, there is a full pasture of friendly faces to meet! Kids love feeding the goats and learning how different animals contribute to daily farm life.
The Play Grove Kid Park & Farm Games
Before screens took over, kids played outside from sunup to sundown. We keep that active spirit alive in our Play Grove (our screen-free Kid Park), featuring two massive 20x25 jump pads, a gravel dig pit, a bubble station, an acoustic sound garden (pots and pans to hit!), and classic yard games like tetherball, cornhole, and frisbee golf!
Digging in the Dirt
Little hands love the feeling of cool, crumbly soil. Whether they're planting tulip bulbs for next season or scooping up dirt, there's something wonderful about letting kids experience the earth firsthand.
